Bridging the Gap Towards Singapore’s 60,000 EV Charging Points by 2030
Singapore’s EV transition has reached an important milestone.
More than half of the national target of 60,000 EV charging points by 2030 has now been achieved, with 30,500 charging points deployed as of March 2026. The Government has also shared that every HDB town will have at least one fast charging hub by end-2027, strengthening public confidence in the accessibility of EV charging across Singapore.
This is more than just a number.
It is a strong signal that Singapore’s EV ecosystem is moving from planning into real-world adoption.
As EVs made up 57.6% of new car registrations in the first quarter of 2026, the demand for reliable charging infrastructure is no longer a future consideration. It is already here.
Why the Charging Gap Still Matters
While Singapore is making strong progress, the next phase of EV adoption will not only depend on how many chargers are installed.
It will depend on where they are installed, how reliable they are, and whether drivers can access them conveniently as part of their daily routine.
For residents, this means being able to charge at home or within their estate.
For commercial buildings, it means creating practical charging access for tenants, visitors, and employees.
For fleet operators and businesses, it means having infrastructure that can support operational needs without disrupting day-to-day movement.
The real challenge is no longer simply about building more chargers.
It is about building the right charging infrastructure in the right locations, supported by strong operations, proper maintenance, and long-term scalability.
What This Means for Private Premises
Singapore’s 2030 target includes 20,000 charging points in private premises. This is where condominiums, commercial buildings, industrial estates, offices, hotels, and private developments play an important role.
Many of these sites are not starting from the same point.
Some developments have newer electrical infrastructure and available capacity.
Others, especially older estates, may require more careful planning, load assessment, cabling works, and phased deployment.
This is why EV charging cannot be treated as a simple plug-and-play installation.
Each property needs a practical and sustainable approach that considers current demand, future adoption, available electrical capacity, user behaviour, and long-term maintenance.
How MNL Solutions Is Bridging the Gap
At MNL Solutions Pte Ltd, we see our role as more than just installing chargers.
We help property owners, MCSTs, developers, commercial buildings, and businesses move from interest to implementation.
As an Land Transport Authority (LTA) Singapore approved EV Charge Point Operator and systems integrator, MNL provides end-to-end EV charging solutions covering installation, maintenance, operations, backend software, user support, reporting, and future scalability.
To date, MNL has achieved 950 EV chargers as of February 2026, comprising 850 chargers in condominium sites and 100 chargers across commercial sites. MNL has also set a target of 1,700 EV charge points by end-2026.
This reflects the growing role that private premises play in Singapore’s charging network.
For many properties, especially condominiums, one of the biggest barriers is upfront cost. Through our zero-CAPEX model, MNL enables MCSTs and property owners to deploy EV chargers with no upfront installation cost, while also creating potential revenue-sharing opportunities for the estate.
This allows developments to support residents and users today, while preparing for stronger EV adoption in the years ahead.
Building Confidence Through Reliable Operations
EV adoption is ultimately driven by confidence.
Drivers need to trust that chargers will be available, easy to use, and properly maintained.
That is why MNL’s approach focuses strongly on reliability and user experience. Our platform supports real-time monitoring, usage reporting, remote assistance, and smart charging capabilities. MNL also provides 24/7 call centre support and maintenance assistance to ensure users receive help when needed.
Our growing user base also reflects increasing EV charging activity across the network. By the first quarter of 2026, MNL recorded more than 15,000 active users and monthly charging consumption of over 600 megawatt-hours.
These are important signs that EV charging is becoming part of everyday driving behaviour in Singapore.
Supporting Singapore’s EV Future
Singapore’s progress towards 60,000 EV charging points by 2030 is encouraging.
But the next milestone will require continued collaboration between public agencies, charge point operators, property owners, MCSTs, developers, and businesses.
At MNL Solutions, we remain committed to supporting this transition by delivering EV charging infrastructure that is practical, reliable, and future-ready.
Because the goal is not only to install more chargers.
It is to make EV charging accessible, trusted, and convenient enough for more drivers to confidently make the switch.
Singapore’s EV future is already taking shape.
Now, the focus is on ensuring that every estate, building, and business has the right infrastructure to move forward with it.
What do you think will matter most in the next phase of EV adoption — more chargers, faster chargers, or better access where people live and work?
